Spiritual Cinema: Salt
(Taken from Kalyn's "Flowing Towards Joy & Love Newsletter" for women http://golden-flow-system.com/joynews)
By Kalyn

I reluctantly went to see the movie Salt, not being a big fan of action movies. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. The first thing than struck me about the movie and the main character, Eva, was her femininity, even as a CIA agent.
As women, keeping true to ourselves and to what we are can be more challenging than it is for a man because we live in a male-dominated world. By definition, men are in power or in a better position. This causes many women to grow up trying to compete with men, trying to prove that we are as capable or able. As such, keeping true to the first key (in our series), it is important to know ourselves, and as women, to know that we have strengths as women: to know that we don’t need to compete with men or try to be like a man.
Too often female protagonists in movies, television or books are masculine. They are often physically strong, emotionally disconnected and even forward. These characteristics are, generally speaking, masculine whereas feminine strengths, which Evelyn holds in Salt, would be intuitive. “Evelyn” in the Movie Salt is mysterious and emotionally strong. The second reason I loved the movie is because Evelyn lives the spiritual keys discussed in our newsletter. She knows herself. It is easy to admire Evelyn. She has been touched by love and has allowed her heart to be change, giving her purpose in life and making her emotionally connected. She is intuitive too, so that when she is betrayed and needs to try to rescue her husband, her mysterious side keeps the CIA on their toes, never being able to guess her moves and allowing her to stay one step ahead of them and the man who kidnapped her husband at all times.
A character like Evelyn is easy to fall in love with or to believe in because we naturally admire someone who is spiritually connected via their living the life keys. We often admire them because they have a certain something that seems magical and we can’t help but feel like they are doing right by all.
Finally, Evelyn is a hero because she is true to herself and dedicated to her heart. She does not seek recognition for her action from others, but instead is focused on what needs to be done. An inner drive to do what is right for no reason and with no reward marks a true hero.
To be inspired and see a feminine hero in a great story with a surprising plot twist, go enjoy yourself at a spiritual cinema and see Salt.

I love this article Kalyn.  I saw the movie too and had the same feeling - she definitely moved intuitively - and I was surprisingly impressed!

Love and light, Halle
