We were talking here at home and saying that before bed it is great to do a “death” process, meaning that you let all of your life go. You allow yourself to leave everything behind for the night, as if you were dying to your life since the day is over. (You are reborn into your life again in the morning).

Letting all of your life go this way is a great practice because it allows you to release a lot of what blocks your connection to Source. You allow your energy to flow, putting you into more authentic, Source energies. Increase your use of the Law of Attraction, since you enhance and clear your energy which increases your ability to attract!

You will find that you will feel better, you will be more clear in the mornings and life will flow better for you. You will also find that it is easier to then allow your dreams to flow into your life!

Sweet dreams!

“Source is ever flowing;
that means that everything is always changing,
that means that there are no exceptions.
Nothing stays in your life, everything goes.
Every moment of your day, and Source replaces everything, every moment of your day.”

Spiritual Cinema at Home: Interview With a Vampire

One of the most magical parts of life is that everything we experience is within life; therefore it has universal laws within it. Even a movie about Vampires!

The 1994 movie Interview With a Vampire, is a great story that applies to us all even though it is a mythological tail of vampires. After all, like us, vampires are said to (mostly) live the way we do. They go places, do things, fall in love and have homes.

The movie is a story, or the interview, told by the vampire Louis. He tells about his life, how he was made a vampire and about his two hundred vampire years of life. One of his many journeys or adventures includes a trip to Europe to try to find other vampires, which he eventually does. Initially he is happy to meet Armand, the four hundred year-old leader of the Paris vampires, someone to answer all his questions about being a vampire.

Armand divulges one of the most poignant aspects of being a vampire to Louis, giving us the crux of their existence and ours. Armand says that vampires do not change, but life does, and that he needs Louis to connect to the modern times. By connecting through Louis Armand can adapt. Otherwise, he says, the only thing that truly kills vampires is their inability to change. In other words, their rigidity is their downfall.

The idea proposed by Armand is that vampires become stuck in the age in which they were human. They subscribe to the beliefs of the time, to that life style and to that perspective of life and the world. As fifty years go by, there is a new energy bringing a new set of beliefs, causes, life styles and so on. As the world changes, vampires who cannot adapt get stuck in a modern, alien world that they no longer fit it and no longer know how to function.

This too occurs to us. When we are not living by our spiritual principals, we fail to evolve and change too. People who subscribe to the current trends in life can become invested in the identifying trends of a time, instead of being identified with themselves. As trends change, even from one season to the next, it is then easy to find oneself subscribing to and upholding beliefs and causes that are no longer around. This is actually a law of physics as well, the law of entropy: if organisms do not receive energy they will decompose. From Wikipedia.com:
“In this view, evolution explores possible paths to level differences in energy densities and so increase entropy most rapidly. Thus, an organism serves as an energy transfer mechanism, and beneficial mutations allow successive organisms to transfer more energy within their environment.”

On the other hand, people who stay connected to themselves and to their dreams are quite the opposite. They not only evolve and change with the times, but they tend to be the ones driving the changes and setting the new trends, which change as they do.

To make a long story short,” I began, “we sawThe Town, ( movie) which was about a bank robber trapped in his own life. He wants to change, but he is being blackmailed into the next robbery. In the end, his three friends and partners are killed in a robbery and he loses his girlfriend because he has to flee from the FBI. He leaves his girlfriend a note saying that ‘even thought we may change our lives, we still have to pay for our mistakes.”

My girlfriend listened intently because she is also a client of mine and knew this was going to relate to her.

“My point is, you are like him, you are going to have to pay for your robberies; only with you it is about the mistakes you have made with your family, your friends and your money. Like Doug in the movie, you have to own your life now that it is catching up with you. He is ready to accept the consequences of his actions; he is embracing what has happened and you need to do the same.”

“I understand. I really have made some mistakes,” she responded solemnly to me. “But I’m scared of the consequences.”

“Why would you be scared of the consequences?” I asked.

“Because I’m afraid I’ll be punished.” She says, nodding her head.

“By who?”

“By God.” She answered, laughing a bit because she knew what I was about to respond.

“God doesn’t punish. Being with your consequences and embracing them will change your life. It will also empower you.”

“I can see that. If I am with my consequences, I’ll be with myself and that is empowering.”

I liked the movie The Town because Ben Affleck’s character, Doug, is empowered and he does accept the choices he has made in his life, choices which cost him dearly. It was a great reminder of the importance of owning our lives, even when we feel trapped, like Doug.

The movie did a great job of capturing that sense that we just don’t have a choice in life when we see Doug being blackmailed into the next job and the next; or when it shows that his family and his hole neighborhood know of no other way to live life. Even his efforts to get out and change his life are pointless until almost everyone around him is dead.

Dramatic? Yes, but this is how we all feel at one time or another. Our circumstances may be far less severe but the feeling that we are trapped and that life is offering nothing else is very real and very common.

Actually, this is why my girlfriend is tangled in her current circumstances. She perpetually felt that she had to take what she wanted in life and make things happen. By pushing the river out of a fear that life (or people in her life) would not provide for her, she has brusquely forced things to happen, often at the cost of those around her.

Now that things have caught up with her, like Doug in the movie, it is time for her to realize that she does have choice or alternatives in life. She is beginning to see that there is abundance in life and for her, when she allows it.

What does she need to do now to correct this? She simply needs to acknowledge the choices she has made and the way it has affected her, her life and the people she cares about. By doing this she will be embracing her past. This will enable her to deeply see her life differently so that she can begin to perceive life as giving to her, (as opposed to her current view that it will punish her or take things away from her). When she embraces this too then she will begin to feel differently about life and about herself; she will automatically make more love-based choices (instead of her old fear-based choices) and she will enter into a flow of harmony where her dreams will come true, without her forcing them. Like Doug, she will find freedom in a new way of living.
